Romeo Acop was a proud graduate of the prestigious Philippine Military Academy (PMA), belonging to the Class of 1970. His time at the academy shaped his character, instilling in him the values of courage, loyalty, and honor. These principles guided him throughout his distinguished career in the Philippine Constabulary and later in the Philippine National Police (PNP), where he served with distinction and rose to the rank of police general.

His tenure in law enforcement was marked by a strong stance against criminality and a reputation for fairness and professionalism. He held key leadership positions, including a notable role in the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), where he led high-profile investigations and championed reforms in police operations.

Romeo Acop was married to Resurreccion “Chiqui” Acop, a fellow public servant who later succeeded him as the representative of Antipolo’s 2nd District. The couple was blessed with three children, including Dr. Karla Marie Acop, who remained close to her father and was by his side during his final days.
